A little about Cyndi

I am a stay at home to 5 beautiful rambunctious kids living on a farm in Nebraska. I am wife, a nurturer, and I love anything artsy! We have 4 horses, 4 cats, 1 dog, 2 goats and about 20 chickens! I mainly document my family’s crazy life and love every minute of it!

What does photography mean to you?

Photography. The constant desire of my soul. I wish I would of started sooner but I am glad that I’m doing it now. Isn’t it funny how moments just pass by without actually fully absorbing them? Every touch, every smile, every milestone, every tear and yes also the bad moments are all treasures. I take pictures to remember the mundane, the ordinary, and the things that I will surely forget as days turn to years. These memories I will cherish when those childhood days are long gone but will remain only in our pictures. As I continue this journey being inspired by so many, I hope to someday inspire somebody to create from the heart and capture those beautiful moments that would otherwise be lost forever!

When did you start pursuing photography?

I fell in love with photography about 8 years ago when my son was born. I wanted to document every minute of his life. I got my first DSLR last year from my amazing husband and I haven’t put it down since! I mainly document my family’s crazy life and are just starting to take some clients. Photography for me is my passion! It has been such an amazing journey and I can’t wait for what is to come!

What motivates and inspires you?

My children. They are my everything! They inspire me everyday to become better and to see beauty in the mundane. There are also a few photographers that inspire me and that motivate me to learn everyday!

Can you share with us a few of your favorite images and what you love about them?

One of my recent faves. I love this one because to me this is the epitome of childhood. When I saw my daughter having a tea party with her stuffed animals I knew I had to get a shot!

I love this one! Every detail, from the different cereals, to the spilled milk. This is real life!

Love the emotion in this one. She was ready to go with daddy in the morning but daddy couldn’t take her along. So she just sat there pouting with her mismatched shoes and her lovey turtle in that beautiful golden light.

The mood in this one is my favorite. I love this one! The light and the sky was amazing! I love that I captured the bond between my mom and my daughter! It gets me right in the feels!

What advice would you give another photographer just starting up?

To be yourself. To follow your heart. Don’t compare yourself to others.

Nikon or Canon? What lens is always attached?

My baby is a Nikon D810 . My go to lens at the moment is the sigma art 24mm.

Lightroom or Photoshop? Both?

Both, but mostly Lightroom.
