A little about Kharmel

I am a mother of 5 beautiful kids, 4 boys and 1 baby girl, I am married to my best friend and we reside in Northern CA . I have a terrible, unhealthy obsession with White hot chocolates from Starbucks and probably drink them way more than I should. I am the girl that owns 20 pairs of jeans but only wears the same two over and over again, the girl who has a bucket full of nail polish but only wears the same color over and over again. I am obsessed with horror films ( from the 80’s ) 80’s music, and tv shows from the 70’s and 80’s…sometimes I think I was born in the wrong era.

Can you tell us what photography means to you?

Photography means EVERYTHING to me. It’s always on my mind, it has become a huge part of who I am I hope it’s one of the things that I am remembered for when I die.

What Motivates and inspires you?

My motivation and inspiration comes from my children, being outdoors and exploring and music believe it or not. I do get quite motivated from other photographers as well…I love learning new things from other photographers.

Are you in business or a hobbyist?

I  consider myself a business and hobbyist.

Can you share with us 5 of your favorite images and tell us why you love them so.

What’s in your camera bag?

In my camera bag is my Canon 7D Mark II & My Canon 6D for back up. However I do not bring it with me all of the time. My 4 most used lenses that I see, to carry with me everywhere are my 135mm f/2 , My 85L, my 50L and my 35L!! I also carry baby wipes, extra CF cards, Lens cleaning cloths, Candy, Chapstick, My ipad, Hand lotion, expodisc, My iphone and I think that’s it.

What does your editing process look like?

My editing process isn’t anything interesting or exciting, lol. I import my photos into lightroom, go through and double check to make sure their still aren’t any ones that didn’t make the cut still lurking around, then I start editing! Well, after I put on some good tunes first.
