A little about Jen

I am a 38 year old SAHM to 3 year old twin boys. They are a whirlwind of emotions daily And I couldn’t imagine my life any other way! I have always loved photography but have just began to learn more over the past 3 years. I love lifestyle/documentary photography, it will always be where my heart is, but I am trying to expand on my skills of what I can create.

Can you tell us what photography means to you?

Photography is my quiet after a loud day. While taking pictures I don’t see my boys eating or being covered in the dirt, I see an amazing memory forever captured.

What Motivates and inspires you?

There are so many things that inspire me. The photog community defiantly plays a big role in my motivation. Being able to see so many great artists and where their work takes them makes me want to pick up my camera and learn more. My kids doing something new, being silly or hanging out in beautiful light also makes me run for my camera. When I was first leaning I was insistent I only ever wanted to be a natural light – lifestyle photographer, learning more about my camera and taking in everyone’s work inspired me to go outside my little box!

Are you in busniess or a hobbyist?

I have just recently took the step from momtog to a business 🙂

Can you share with us 5 of your favorite images and tell us why you love them so.

Its almost impossible to pick favorites. Everything that I consider my favorite involves great light or emotion.

What’s in your camera bag?

Nikon D750 and my trusty 50mm 1.8.

What does your editing process look like?

I always start in ACR and go into PS. I have a few actions  I use at times but I mostly hand edit. I’m still trying to find my “style”

It’s very rare two of my photos are edited exactly the same these days!

Anything else you’d like us to know about you?

My theme for the week is {making memories}

We all have that one thing from our childhood that we will never forget. Try and capture whether it be in the present while making a new memory or something that reminds you of the memories you hold close to your heart.
